Design and Display
The ZTE Blade 11 Prime chassis can be described as better looking when compared to its predecessor. It bears a more modern look, that sort of gives the Blade prime series some leverage, shedding off some of its low-budget vibes.
Taking a first look at the rear of this device, we discover the absence of a capacitive fingerprint sensor, which was one of the diminishing cues on the Blade 10 prime’s design. This capacitive fingerprint sensor has been replaced with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The placements on the rear, include a camera module with triple cameras and an LED flash and the Blade branding, which in my opinion isn’t enough for enthusiasts to tell it’s a ZTE phone.
Moving up front, we are greeted with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display with a drop notch. This display has a resolution of 720 x 1600 and a density of 269 PPI.
Much like its predecessor that came in one colour varaint, enthusiasts that make the decision to purchase this smartphone, will have to settle for just Sky Blue.
The Cameras
ZTE bumped the rear cameras a bit this year, leaving us with a triple camera on the rear, as opposed to a dual setup on the last year’s model. However, there is a slight reduction in the pixels on the front camera.
On the rear of the ZTE Blade 11, we have a three cameras that includes 16MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 120˚ field of view. Lastly, we have a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4. Video record on this setup is capped at 1080p @ 30fps.
Upfront, we have a single 8MP camera, in lieu of the 10MP camera on its predecessor. This camera is capable of shooting video up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Hardware and Software
There is no denying the fact that processors play in big roll in the performance of smartphones as well as other gadgets. They are more influential that the RAM, which is sort of the reason iPhones have been providing users with smooth experiences and yet not having the most RAM in the game.
Putting the fact explained in the above paragraph, dictates that even if ZTE Blade 11 Prime, features 4GB RAM as opposed to the 3GB RAM on its predecessor, it wont’ actually show an improved performance due to the Helio P22 processor it bears, as opposed to the Heli0 P60 processor on the Blade 10.
Keeeping the processor aside, we do have a slightly bigger battery at 4000mAh as opposed to the 3400mAh battery on the Blade 10.
On the software side, we have the Blade prime 11 running its user interface ontop of the Android 11 operating system.
Connectivity
The ZTE Blade 11 Prime features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C (2.0) port and Bluetooth 5.1.
Internet connectivity on the ZTE Blade 11 Prime is capped at 4G LTE as there is no 5G support here.
ZTE Blade 11 Prime Price and Availability
The Price of the ZTE Blade 11 Prime is around $195, which translates to about 80,438 Naira in Nigeria, 21,099 KSH in kenya and 1,129 GHC in Ghana.
The ZTE Blade 11 Prime was announced and released for purchase on the 27th of April 2021.
